For years, Scots-Portuguese artist Su Shaw played folk as Panda Su on the Fife scene, which drew in The Beta Band and King Creosote. Since signing with OLI, her style has developed to encompass the hauntingly personal electronica of last year’s self-titled debut, and now there’s this compelling six-track remix package. Roxymore’s subtle, metallic beats swathe the Lynchian ‘Eyes Shut’, Edinburgh’s Makeness brings an urgent electro-funk to ‘Emma’, and Sophia Loizou adds a tender breakbeat ambience to ‘Maps’. Pleasingly, they all carefully balance Shaw’s original vision with their divergent new forms.
