A dual Belgian-Tunisian heritage informs this debut album from Brussels DJ Sara Dziri. Snaking acid house and head-nodding techno would be enough. Big fat synths? Box ticked. But its Arabic elements elevate everything. North African chord meandering and evocative qanun pulls us across the Mediterranean. And the singing tops it off. Triumphant in the euphoria of closing track ‘Kan Ya Makan’, it’s as if Natacha Atlas has been parachuted in as guest narrator. What an album. FR
