There’s a rather intriguing lack of information accompanying this release, except to say its creator has vague links with Japanese psychedelic royalty Acid Mothers Temple. ‘70’ is “a musical jigsaw made out of sounds from the 1970s” and is split into two 20-plus minute collages, ‘70 71 72 73 74’ and yes, you guessed it,’75 76 77 78 79’. It’s a parallel universe where Can’s rhythmic chugging sidles up to Tangerine Dream’s throbbing sequencers in an ever-moving patchwork quilt of familiar textures and sounds. The real 70s were never this much fun. BW
