It’s quite a feat for a record to marry imperial phase Basement Jaxx grooves to elastic bass, as on ‘A Little Bit (More)’, and cover REM’s ‘Man On the Moon’ with breathtakingly goofy disco swagger. But perhaps most astonishing is the transformation of ‘This Is Pop 2’ from Suicide-style noirish minimalism into a glorious kaleidoscopic onslaught. Party on. AT
